File Names

MINERVA uses standardized file name extensions:

*.min MINERVA Source File

Plain text file holding the program source. Created by the MINERVA developer. Used by minervac

*.mbc MINERVA Byte Code

Binary file holding the program object code. Created by minervac. Used by minerva or minervagui.

*.mpk MINERVA Package

Text file holding the interface description of a program package in a library. Created by minervac or minervax. Used by minerva or minervagui.

*.mca MINERVA Compressed Archive

Compressed archive file used to hold a set of files for a program for fast loading and easy access. Created by minervar. Used by minerva.

*.mxt MINERVA Extension

Text file holding the specification of an extension with Java classes and methods. Created by the MINERVA developer. Used by minervax.

*.msp MINERVA Startup Properties

Text file holding e.g. the path information for program libraries. Created by the MINERVA developer. Used by minerva and used by minervar
